
| GED Preparation Students begin by studying with either a Pre-GED or GED computer tutorial. Students work at their own pace in the lab and at home. Personal tutors can be made availible to answer questions and provide guidance. |
| Basic Computer Skills SI encourages all beginning students to take this course first. Students learn how to use the mouse, keyboard, printer and basic computer programs as well as simple computer terminology and trouble shooting. |
| Beginning Internet The internet is a vast recourse for job searching and other research. Students will learn about basic internet navigation and privacy issues to aid them in filling out job applications, searching job posting and sending resumes. |
| Typing Instruction This self-paced course teaches touch-typing skills which allows students to type without looking at the keyboard. Successful completion of this unit will have students typing at no less than 10 words a minute. |
| Business skills Once a student has mastered computer basics they can go on to learn how to create letters, resumes and envelopes, plus how to use spell check, clip art and the other useful tools of Microsoft Office. |
| Fees: SI charges the low fee of $10/month for an unlimited number of hours. Fees are due at the beginning of each month. |
